An Eye-shaped switch within Carthage. Activating this switch will open a corridor leading to an elevator that travels to the Celestial Dome. If they don't find the key in time Team Lyoko will first of all get stuck in the Core Zone until someone enters Carthage and finds the key for them, and second if they are devirtualized after not finding the key they will not return to the Scanners but be materialized by one of Jeremie's programs.

There is only one Key left in Carthage, and that is the one used to access the staircase which leads to the Core of Lyoko. And the one in the newly discovered Carthage Replika which is made to destroy the Destruction Ring Program shown in A Space Oddity.

"Keys" are also the name of things that XANA stole from Franz Hopper and Aelita in order to escape from Lyoko and the Supercomputer. When XANA finally acquired both sets of keys, he was able to escape the Supercomputer and into the Network, leaving Aelita dead. After this, Franz Hopper seemingly sacrificed himself to give his daughter back her memories, and to give her a copy of her keys to bring Lyoko back.
